Canadian Rockies: Stephen Avenue “Trees” (Calgary)

International Travel, Photography, Travel

My wife and I recently returned from a trip to visit the Canadian Rockies. While I edit photos and write up some Travel Tales, I thought I’d share a few early photos. Calgary was our entry point and one thing I wanted to see in town were the steel “Trees” found on Stephen Avenue, originally designed to reduce wind gusts between the buildings.

Canadian Rockies: Peace Bridge (Calgary)

International Travel, Photography, Travel

My wife and I recently returned from a trip to visit the Canadian Rockies. While I edit photos and write up some Travel Tales, I thought I’d share a few early photos. Calgary was our entry point, and we spent a day exploring downtown before heading off. Peace Bridge, a covered pedestrian bridge designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, got my creative juices flowing.

Canadian Rockies: Athabasca Falls

International Travel, Photography, Travel

My wife and I recently returned from a trip to visit the Canadian Rockies. While I edit photos and write up some Travel Tales, I thought I’d share a few early photos. Athabasca Falls, in Jasper National Park, is not the highest or the widest waterfall in the Canadian Rockies but it is the most powerful.

Canadian Rockies: Moraine Lake

International Travel, Photography, Travel

My wife and I recently returned from a trip to visit the Canadian Rockies. While I edit photos and write up some Travel Tales, I thought I’d share a few early photos. There are many lakes in the area, but this one was my favorite. There’s a semi-steep climb up some rocks (moraine) to get this view that is well worth the climb.

Circular Fisheye Project: Claremont Village #3

Fisheye, Photography, Southern California

There are many shops in Claremont Village, including this one with a garden area filled with plants and pottery. I thought the sign provided a nice horizontal anchor to this circular composition. (You can read about the origins of this project here.)
