November Read: 100 Essays I Don’t Have Time to Write

This week’s read: 100 Essays I Don’t Have Time to Write: On Umbrellas and Sword Fights, Parades and Dogs, Fire Alarms, Children, and Theater by Sarah Ruhl. Being a playwright, it’s no surprise Ruhl has broken this collection into four titled sections, including On Writing Plays and On Acting in Plays. The essays themselves range from a few words to a few pages on a variety of play-related subjects ranging from titles with participles to whether bad poets make good playwrights. Here’s “An essay in praise of smallness” in its entirety: “I admire minimalism.” Read more about or purchase at Amazon.
