Locally nicknamed “Imagination Valley,” Devrent Valley’s rock formations are some of the best formed and most thickly clustered in Cappadocia. Many of the rock cones are topped by flattish, darker stones of harder rock that sheltered the cones from the rain until all the surrounding rock was eaten away. Tour guides here love pointing out the weird rock shapes. There is supposedly a dolphin, seals, Napoleon’s hat, kissing birds, the Virgin Mary, and various reptilian forms. The camel is easily spotted but others require some imagination. All photos taken with the Nikon Z6 and 14-30mm f/4 or 24-200mm f/4-6.3 lens. Processed using Photoshop CC and Nik Collection’s Color Efex Pro.
