Malaysia – Thean Hou Temple (1 of 2)

Thean Hou Temple, perched on a hill overlooking Kuala Lumpur, is one of the largest and most ornate Chinese temples in Southeast Asia. Opened in 1989, it was built by the Hainanese community of Malaysia and is dedicated to the sea goddess Mazu (also known as Thean Hou), who is revered as the protector of fishermen and sailors. The temple also honors Guan Yin, the goddess of mercy, and Shui Wei Sheng Niang, another deity linked to seafarers, reflecting the deep maritime roots of the Hainanese people. All photos created with the Nikon Z6 and either the 14-30mm f/4 or 24-70mm f/4 lens. Processed using Photoshop CC and Nik Collection’s Color or Silver Efex Pro.
