f11 Magazine – Christine Wilson

Photographers, Photography

If you don’t already subscribe to f11 Magazine, I would highly recommend it. Each issue features interviews with, along with portfolios of, three diverse photographers. Issue are free to either view online or download as PDFs. The September issue is now out and I wanted to share the work of one of the photographers featured.

Christine Wilson is a self-taught photographer based out of Melbourne, Australia. Her photos are well composed and I love the fact that the work featured here is shot with crop-sensor cameras. So much time is spent today among people on photography sites going on and on about full-frame versus crop-sensor, or mirrored versus mirrorless, that it’s nice to be reminded that none of that really matters. You can find more of Christine’s work here.

Jamaica Travel Tales Up

International Travel, Photography

Last month my wife and I popped over to Jamaica for a week, ostensibly to celebrate my birthday but also to explore a new country. Unfortunately, something hit me the day before we flew out, so we weren’t able to explore as much as I was hoping. That said, I now have my short Jamaica Travel Tales online: https://jeremiahgilbert.com/travel_tales/caribbean/jamaica/

Canadian Rockies: Banff Gondola View

International Travel, Photography, Travel

My wife and I recently returned from a trip to visit the Canadian Rockies. While I edit photos and write up some Travel Tales, I thought I’d share a few early photos. When in Banff, one option is to take the gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain, which provides an elevated view of six mountain ranges. This was one view that inspired a highly contrasted black & white finish.

Canadian Rockies: Glacier National Park, Montana

International Travel, Photography, Travel

My wife and I recently returned from a trip to visit the Canadian Rockies. While I edit photos and write up some Travel Tales, I thought I’d share a few early photos. While staying in Waterton Lakes National Park, near the US border with Montana, we dipped in Glacier National Park for a day trip.
