Puerto Rico — El Yungue

As I discovered in the Amazon, rain forests are difficult to photograph, so today I grab my wide-angle lens hoping for better results. Our first stop in the El Yungue is the El Portal Rain Forest Center, a beautifully designed center with a few short trails going from it. Our next stop is supposed to be Yokahu Tower, but unbeknownst to anyone (including our guide), it is closed for repairs. So that leaves a hike a little further north along the Camitillo trail followed by a brief stop to view La Coca Falls. It’s very hard to capture the falls without tourists climbing onto it to have their picture taken.

Photos taken March 2012 (Nikon D7000).
