Ghent is located in the Flemish region of Belgium and in the Middle Ages was one of the largest and richest cities in northern Europe. We are here during Gentse Feesten, a ten-day music and theatre festival, so some views are obstructed by tents and banners. We begin our walking tour at the Saint Nicholas Church, which is besides the Belfry and Saint Bavo Cathedral. Then into more of the town. While Ghent is Belgium’s second largest municipality, it remains quaint and unrushed.
