Bosnia and Herzegovina — Sarajevo

It’s a nearly seven-hour bus ride from Dubrovnik to Sarajevo. Upon our arrival, we find a wonderful cab driver who takes us from the bus station to our hotel, while giving us a very detailed tour along the way. He was in Sarajevo when the Serbs were firing into town on a daily basis.

Sarajevo is not an attractive city, I’m sorry to say. In fact, I was secretly hoping that we’d arrived in the wrong town at first and that this mistake would be revealed and the right town found only a few miles away. Its old town is quaint, however, though quite small.
