Hello Kitty’s 40th Anniversary was celebrated at the first ever official Hello Kitty Convention, held October 30 to November 2. Hello Kitty Con 2014 was a global gathering of fans to celebrate all things Hello Kitty. The convention took place at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) in Downtown LA’s Little Tokyo.

While my wife and our friend were there to experience everything Hello Kitty, I came as an interested photographer determined to document the experience itself: The food trucks, gift bags, and cross-promotions along with the fervent fans and never-ending supply of merchandise, old and new.
