In celebration of World Photo Day, I thought I’d share my new travel camera setup. I have always traveled with a crop-sensor camera and lenses, figuring they were lighter than their full-frame counterparts (and cheaper to replace if lost or stolen). However, for the past few years I have shot full-frame for everything else and started to question why I was maintaining two systems. So I recently sold my crop-sensor Nikon D7100 and my crop-sensor lenses in favor of going totally full-frame.
My travel setup will now be the above Nikon Df with Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8-4 lens. I will also be taking my Nikon 50mm f/1.4 lens for low light situations and Nikon 70-210mm f/4-5.6 lens for when I need a zoom. Surprsignly, everything still fits in my previous travel camera bag, so that’s a plus. Now I just need to finalize my December travels plans.
