Hierapolis is an ancient city located in southwestern Turkey, near the town of Pamukkale. The city was founded in the 2nd century BCE and flourished during the Roman period. Before entering the city on encounters the necropolis, which contains a vast collection of ancient tombs and sarcophagi. The Necropolis of Hierapolis is one of the largest ancient cemeteries in Turkey and offers a glimpse into the city’s funerary traditions.
