Peru – Miraflores Street Art (1 of 2)

Miraflores is one of Lima’s most visually engaging districts, and its public art reflects the neighborhood’s combination of contemporary culture, Peruvian identity, tourism, and urban sophistication. Although neighboring Barranco is generally regarded as Lima’s most famous street-art district, Miraflores has developed its own collection of commissioned murals and other forms of urban art. A particularly important development has been the municipality’s support for muralismo urbano (urban muralism) as a way of transforming otherwise blank walls into public artworks. The city has also incorporated murals into its cultural and tourism programs. All photos created using the Nikon Z8 with the Nikkor 14-30mm f/4 or 24-200mm f/4 lens. Processed using Photoshop CC and Nik Collection’s Color Efex Pro.
