Nikon is being criticized for its selection of professional photographers promoting their new D850 DSLR in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The problem? If you take a look at the photographers in the lineup, you’ll see 32 men and zero women. With this in mind, I thought I’d spend this week sharing links to some of my favorite female photographers.
British photographer Kirsty Mitchell spent a decade as a senior designer for fashion label Karen Millen. During this time, she rediscovered her passion for photography. She immersed herself even deeper into photography while dealing with the grief of the loss of her mother to cancer, resulting in the incredible, 6-year “Wonderland” project. Kirsty worked on every aspect of these intricate, layered photographs and the attention to detail is unbelievable. She has recently announced that she is about to begin on her next series and I cannot wait to see the results.
