As we’ve now returned from our cruise consisting of Iceland, Greenland, Faroe Islands and Shetland, along with ports in Norway and Sweden, I thought I’d share a few of the challenges of cruising in this part of the world.

Challenge #2 – Weather

Weather can have a dramatic impact on what you see and do. Due to heavy fog and icebergs, we were unable to anchor off of Paamiut, Greenland. As icebergs made everyone think of the Titanic, no one complained too much. We were able to dock the following day in Nuuk and the (smaller) icebergs added to the atmosphere.
