The spiritual heart of Paraguay, Caacupé is famous for its blue-domed basilica dedicated to the Virgin of Caacupé, the country’s patron saint. Every December, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims visit during one of South America’s largest religious festivals. While Caacupé is best known for its basilica and pilgrimage traditions, the city has also developed an impressive collection of murals that have become a cultural attraction in their own right. All photos created using the Nikon Z8 with either the Nikkor 14-30mm f/4 or 24-200mm f/4-6.3 lens. Processed using Photoshop CC and either Nik Collection’s Color or Silver Efex Pro.
