A lakeside resort town on Lake Ypacaraí, San Bernardino is a favorite vacation destination for Paraguayans. Founded by German immigrants, it offers waterfront views, restaurants, and a relaxed atmosphere. While we are here in the off season, I was interested in visiting because I was born in San Bernardino (California) and have spent the past three decades teaching at a college there.
