Peru – Ccaccaccollo Women’s Weaving Co-op – Jeremiah Gilbert Photography

Ccaccaccollo is an Indigenous Quechua village in the Andes near Cusco, Peru, famous for its women-led textile cooperative. Founded in 2005 by the non-profit Planeterra in partnership with the local community, it employs dozens of local women who spin, dye, and weave llama and alpaca wool, reviving ancient Incan and Quechua textile traditions that were fading away. Artisans spin, dye with natural Andean plants, and weave llama and alpaca wool into blankets, ponchos, and accessories.
