2026 Re-edits: Netherlands (2012)

As my wife and I do not have any travel plans till next Spring, I thought I’d dig into the archive and re-edit some photos. My criterion is simple: Any set of images before 2020, in no particular order. Some photos I’ve processed before, some have never been edited. Many were only ever seen on my previous website, which no longer exists.

For this first batch I’ve chosen the Netherlands from 2012. My wife had a conference in Amsterdam and, having never been there before, I joined her and went on some day trips while she was away before we came together to explore some more. At this time my travel camera was the crop-sensor Nikon D7000 and my primary lens was the Sigma 10-20mm (15-30mm equivalent on a full-frame camera). I hadn’t started shooting RAW files yet, which somewhat limits what editing I can do now, particularly when it comes to blown out skies. Photos will be presented in the order created with some side notes about their creation.

Photo: Me on the ferry from Marken to Volendam (taken by the guide for this day trip from Amsterdam). Fun fact: I still travel with this hat and jacket.
