Long Beach Walls (1 of 2)

Murals and street art are a defining part of the visual identity of Long Beach, reflecting both its diverse communities and its evolving urban culture. Over the past few decades, the city has developed a reputation as one of Southern California’s most active hubs for public art, where large-scale murals, graffiti-inspired works, and community-driven projects coexist.

A major driver of Long Beach’s street art prominence is the annual Long Beach Walls (formerly POW! WOW! Long Beach). Since 2015, it has brought international and local artists together to create more than 120 murals across the city, transforming neighborhoods into open-air galleries. These events emphasize accessibility—art is meant to be encountered casually in everyday spaces rather than confined to museums.
